Pandemic and the Lockdown: A Squeeze on the Economics of Social Sector

This work attempts to document the fallacies of a neoliberal order that uses populism as its rhetoric. The manifestations out of the same, in the wake of the pandemic across Social Sectors, are looked into in particular. We identify an emergence of a new age economics that is deeply routed in a capitalist order, which creates the “other” as a dominant methodology for meeting the larger populist demands. Taking social sectors for critique under the populist regime, we contest the emergence of a new age economic trajectory and problematize the same in the backdrop of the neoliberal dead-end.
