Nexus of Multiculturalism and Populism in Europe and Africa, The
摘要
This entry examines the impacts of populism on multiculturalism in Europe and Africa. The outcome of the analysis reveals that though multiculturalism is a useful theoretical construct for peace and political stability in diverse communities, it has been greatly compromised by the new wave of populist discontent in diverse European and African states. In our contemporary global era, the rise of anti-immigration, xenophobia, islamophobia, and violent extremism against specific minority groups are the end results of populist discontent.
