Reclaiming Food from Populism for the Common People
摘要
Food is essential for daily life for all people. In this entry, we discuss how food becomes a low hanging fruit harvested by populist leaders as a convenient political tool, especially for garnering support of farmers, rural constituents, and the food industry, with implications on population diet and the environment. As common people, our diet is constantly influenced by systemic manipulation by political and food industry interests. We will explore the different functional and sociocultural dimensions of food to cultivate a path for reclaiming our wholesome relationship with food.
