Gender Discrimination and Its Impact on Employee Performance in Educational Institutions

Gender discrimination is one of the major factors influencing the growth of employees in the organization. Employee performance in educational institutions depends upon the working environment. In the present era, educational institutions play an important role in the economic development of the country. There was tremendous growth in educational institutions which also increased the percentage of influence toward gender discrimination in the form of recruitment, promotion, and compensation. The impact of gender discrimination in educational institutions reduces the satisfaction level of employees in work performance. The success of educational institutions depends upon the proficiency and capability of employees. The objective of the study is focused on determining the factors that impact gender discrimination in educational institutions. The study also determined the various factors which impact employee performance such as promotion, recruitment, lack of motivation, job enrichment, lack of opportunity for development, reward and compensation, favoritism, and inequality participation among men and women employees in decision-making; these factors were analyzed through statistical tools ANOVA and multiple regression. The study selected 200 samples from educational institutions around Bangalore City through random sampling techniques. The result revealed that gender discrimination has a significant impact on employee performance in educational institutions of Bangalore City.
