Spirituality Sustainability Leadership on Human Resource Performance in Islamic Perspective: A Literature Review

The concept of sustainable Islamic leadership has been an exciting topic for review in the academic field in recent decades. Islamic sustainable leadership is a leadership concept that combines Islamic principles with sustainability principles. Sustainable leadership in the Islamic concept has this view that leaders must pay attention to the balance between tasks related to short- and long-term interests. In addition, sustainable spiritual leadership promotes fairness, openness, and participation in decision-making regarding the consequences of sustainable spiritual leadership in an Islamic perspective on organizational justice, increased innovation and adaptation, and human resource performance. Based on the word of Allah Subhanallahu Wa Taala, the Prophet’s hadith and several studies on conventional sustainable leadership are evidence of a tangible link between the two. However, a comprehensive survey of sustainable spiritual leadership is needed from an Islamic perspective to develop a more profound theory. It is crucial for developing science and practice, especially in regions or countries with a Muslim majority.
