Summary, Conclusion, Current Status, and Future Direction for Goalkeeper’s Performance in European Football Leagues

In this chapter, we summarized the major findings of the study. The status of the goalkeeper’s performance in the European championship, as well as future directions, was deliberated. We also examined the performance variables that influence the performance of goalkeepers in the leagues. It is demonstrated that a set of certain performance parameters coupled with goalkeepers’ physical characteristics play a key role in determining their performances during matches. In addition, it was demonstrated that the application of data mining and machine learning techniques will continue to be relevant in evaluating goalkeepers’ performance.
