Identification of Dominant Types of Shots Received and Saves Among Top European Goalkeepers: A Significant Attribute Evaluation Technique
摘要
This chapter highlights the dominant shots and saves directed at goalkeepers (GKs) in the European football championship. It has been demonstrated from the study findings that a set of actions encompassing stopped shots, saves without jumping, jumping saves, shots saved with unsuccessful bouncing, shots saved with successful bouncing as well as close-range shots on target are highly dominant for GKs performances in the European football tournament. It is then inferred that training regimes and tactical strategies should be considered to improve on the weaknesses and leverage the strengths of the GKs.
