Other Formed Elements in Urine
摘要
In urine sediment, in addition to various cells, casts, and crystals, there may also exist substances such as mucus threads, bacteria, fungi and parasites. These substances can be observed using bright field microscopy or phase-contrast microscopy, and they can be identified with appropriate staining methods. It is important to note that while some of these substances have clinical significance, others may be contaminants from the external environment or fecal matter. Therefore, when analyzing urine sediment, it is crucial to recognize these substances and carefully determine their origin.
