Management of Pigmentation in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

PCOS is a complex condition characterized by multisystem involvement presenting with various cutaneous changes adding to the distress of patients. Various skin conditions can present with hypo or hyperpigmentation due to associated metabolic disorders. Understanding the multifactorial pathophysiology of pigmentation in PCOS, formulating the right treatment approach, & ensuring patient adherence to the appropriate skin care routine constitute the holistic approach towards pigmentation in PCOS. This chapter explores the complete spectrum of treatment options ranging from at home simple skin care routines, oral supplements to in-clinic treatment procedures including energy-based devices.
