Design and Development of Wireless Sensor Network for Real-Time Monitoring and Prevention of Accidents in Hilly Area
摘要
Nowadays, a lot of accidents happen because automobiles are traveling at high speeds or because the driver does not notice a vehicle approaching from the other way. These circumstances are common, especially in steep areas with tight turns and poor visibility from surrounding dense fog. Because of the rough terrain and lack of infrastructure, accidents can be particularly severe in mountainous places. In order to improve accident avoidance in hilly areas, this work suggests using wireless sensor networks (WSN) and the ESPNOW protocol. In this study, proximity sensors and ESP8266 modules are utilized to build a wireless sensor network. Proximity sensors are used on one side of the hill to collect information on moving automobiles. ESPNOW acts as a wireless protocol to communicate between wireless nodes. The alert system will use a display to notify the driver of the automobile on the opposite side of the slope when the vehicle passes on one side of the hill.
