A Brief Outline of Quantum Internet
摘要
The Internet has extensively disseminated into civilization, and numerous facilities in several industries are built on top of the Internet. A classical network works by distributing bits in classical nature. In any network, a connection is established between computers through an insecure communication channel and confidential information is conveyed. As a consequence, transferring information has some risks of hacking. So, cybersecurity plays a vital role in hiding information. However, current encryption methods are safe for classical systems but not quantum-safe. Quantum Internet attempts to improve global security to address this problem. It can perform several tasks that are impossible on the classical internet. A quantum network works by quantum bits. Qubits can’t be replicated since they are fragile. It is very important to develop some advanced methods that allow protocols to connect with newly implemented hardware to mitigate the long-distance communication issue. Practical and hypothetical work on large-scale quantum internetworking architectures is being developed. The key concepts, possibilities, and difficulties in quantum internet, quantum cryptography, quantum communication, and quantum networking are presented in this chapter.
