Career Change: Systematic Literature Review and Future Research Agenda
摘要
Employees, nowadays, are experiencing a greater degree of work burnout, work-life conflict, career shifting and career stagnation that lead to career change intentions. To show the current situation of the research studies in the field of career change and to determine the scope for future study in this field, a rigorous analysis of 28 documents published during the period from 2014 to 2022 has been conducted. No systematic review of literature study has been conducted that provides detailed insights into antecedents, consequences and less prevalent topics in the field of a career change. The findings reveal that a greater number of the research studies (57.1%) on career change were based on quantitative methods and cross-sectional designs. The area of study is still under-researched in the industries like banking, health and extractive industries. This review study contributes to the existing literature by providing implications and direction for future research in the field of career change.
