Spatial Structure and Regional Development

This chapter explores the relationship between spatial structure and regional development. Under the influence of new socio-economic development trends, location theory has continued to evolve from a single socio-economic object to a comprehensive entity of regional development. The forms and results of interactions between factors are more complex, and they play a significant role in practical regional development planning and research. The development of location theory has mainly focused on regional analysis and spatial structure. This chapter specifically discusses three aspects: the stages and regulation of the evolution of socio-economic spatial structure, the imbalance of regional development, and accessibility and regional development.
