Resources, Environment and Regional Development

This chapter examines the relationship between resource and environment and regional development. Environmental degradation poses serious challenges to regional development, and there is a dual pressure to promote development and protect the environment. It is crucial to study the “human-nature” regional system and its sustainable development in the face of future environmental crises. Strategic guidelines for ecological and environmental remediation should be implemented, and a resource-saving socio-economic system should be established as one of the fundamental national policies to promote coordinated development between economic growth and ecological environment.
