Sugarcane is a valuable agricultural crop cultivated all over the world for its sweet juice, which is further processed into sugar, molasses, and ethanol. In sugarcane processing, a variety of wastes like bagasse, sludges/mud, and other waste are generated throughout the process and are generally discarded as waste. Generated sugarcane waste (SW) contains valuable components, demanding an effective management and resource utilization system for SW. This chapter mainly discussed the broad aspects, which encompasses the various types of generated sugarcane wastes, different valuable products of SW with the current state of the art in terms of technological enhancements, insights into the circular economy, which plays an essential role in the transformation of SW into wealth and, the challenges and future perspective for the utilization of SW. Overall, this chapter provides an environmentally benign solution for SW and sheds light on current and future opportunities to reuse SW, providing a platform for sustainable development.
