The disposal of waste plastic seriously threatens the ecosystem, which contributes to pollution and global warming. Global plastic utilization is rising, which can be attributed to urbanization and increasing global demand. It was discovered that plastic works well as a binder for asphalt mixtures used in bendable sidewalks. The polyethylene can be altered by adding scrap plastic, creating a mixture that can be used as the top layer of flexible paving and exhibits improved binding properties, stability, density, and water resistance. This effective technique eliminates the development of cracks and reduces rainwater penetration, which would otherwise result in the development of potholes, allowing sidewalks to withstand higher temperatures. To get rid of plastic as well as a way to repair various surface defects like cracks, grooves, potholes, etc. The recycled waste plastic is made of polystyrene, polypropylene, and polyethylene. Environmentally speaking, the procedures that result in recovered plastic pieces that can be added to asphalt mixtures as an additive (wet method) or used instead of natural material (dry method) are considered. Polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) waste thermoplastic plastics are mixed to examine the impacts on various plastic compositions. It has been determined that recycling plastic waste for construction uses will significantly increase climate sustainability and serve as a dependable source material for building materials.
