摘要

Most of the petroleum processing industries are implementing catalytic operations to enhance the process and the product yield; hence, after the progress's completion, the catalyst tends to dispose of waste as it is deactivated. One of the possibilities is using the spent catalyst as an energy storage application and achieving electro catalyst in electrochemical engineering applications. An essential wealth pretends to be the regeneration of the deactivated catalyst, as the used catalyst contains enormous of metals that can be separated, recovered, and utilized. The metal source can be recovered through resolution stages like de-oiling, drying, grinding, and decoking. Even the advanced functions of the hydrometallurgical process participate in the recovery of metals. We can employ the possible path of the pyrometallurgical process. Deactivated catalysts can be regenerated into higher productive catalysts. Using catalyst regeneration techniques has become an essential and growing process. Smelting collection also falls under the pyrometallurgical process, which governs the economy, is friendly and has higher sustainable progress. Here this work is concerned with studying and understanding how to deal with the techniques for recovery of metals from used catalysts through process steps of drying, incineration, and pH control through the pyrometallurgical process. And we have discussed the merits and drawbacks of the recovery process, highlighting the challenges faced during the progress.
