Ongoing Research Areas in Ultrasound Beamforming

This chapter, as the last chapter of the book, presents the ongoing research areas in ultrasound beamforming. It deals with the application of ultrasound imaging in point target detection (e.g., kidney stone and microcalcifications) as well as various techniques presented in this regard. Furthermore, this chapter gives a brief introduction to deep learning and its applications in ultrasound data processing, which is the basis of many studies today. Finally, it ends with a brief explanation of super-resolution ultrasound imaging and its applications.
