Harmonic Imaging and Beamforming

This chapter is dedicated to harmonic imaging; a brief explanation is that the received echo signals in ultrasound imaging include the fundamental and higher order frequency components. By using the higher order frequency components, an image with a better resolution will be reconstructed. There are various methods for extracting the higher order frequency components from the received signal, which are explained in this chapter. The chapter is finished with the image reconstruction algorithms based on harmonic imaging.
