The Relationship Between China and the Byzantine Empire in the Middle Ages

During the Middle Ages, the Silk Road was a bridge connecting Byzantium and China. This paper introduces the Byzantine records in Chinese literature and the Byzantine gold coins unearthed in China, proving that there was close contact between Byzantium and China in the Middle Ages.
