Ecological Rehabilitation Indicators of the Brownfields Site of Nenzi Refinery in Taiwan
摘要
Taiwan Nenzi Refinery was received and repaired by CPC Corporation. In the 1950s, Taiwan officially entered the era of industrialization, and the petrochemical industry became the foundation for economic development. However, in 1976, more news about environment destruction such as black oil rain, air explosions, etc. Land pollution ecological damage and industrial waste were released to the public and raised a big concern. These environmental damages have continued affecting the natural environment and ecology even after the factory was closed. In today's society with a high awareness of environmental protection, many people have begun to pay attention to the impact of the brownfields around them. Take the Nenzi Refinery Area for example, the brownfields are going to be utilized for business purpose rather than environmental restoration. Therefore, this research is carried out in an environmentally sustainable way to restore the damaged ecological environment in the area and construct a set of environmental restoration assessment indicators suitable for brownfields, so that the brownfields can play their value for sustainable development and the community.
