Evaluation of Using Dust Suppressants to Reduce Road Suspended Dust (PM10) in South Korea
摘要
High levels of air pollution in urban cities around the world are emerging as a major concern, the dust suppressants were used to reduce road dust. But the previous results show that there was a large difference in effectiveness with stationary measurement that this study shows vehicle-based measurement to show real-time road dust. Moreover, the concentration of fine dust in spring and winter is relatively high in South Korea, calcium chloride that can used with winter deicing is selected as a way to evaluate the effects. The results show deliquescent that wet conditions lasted longer compared to water. When suspended dust blew enough to affect the atmospheric dust concentration, it showed a reduction rate of more than 11% than magnesium chloride and maintained for more than one or two days. In addition, as a result of the analysis according to traffic volume, the effect of dust suppressants was not significant on roads with no traffic operation, the layers formed by vehicle driving were gradually broken. In addition to silt loading, the use of dust suppressants is rapidly increased with the critical point of 25 mg/m2, 54 mg/m2 of silt loading (sL), and suspended dust with 12 and 17 µg/m3.
