Metal Ion-Doped MnO2 Used in CDI
摘要
Capacitive deionization (CDI) is one of the most promising techniques compared to other desalination techniques. Manganese dioxide (MnO2) has been applied as electrode material due to the high capacitance, low price but limited by low conductivity. In this study, transition metals (Fe, Ni, and Co) have been doped on MnO2 to improve the electrode conductivity. The materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX, and BET, the electrochemical properties were conducted by CV measurement, and the desalination efficiency was measured by a batch model. The results show that Ni@β-MnO2 has the highest ion removal rate.
