A Study on the Factors of Classification Recycling of Construction Demolished Waste (CDW) in Ho Chi Minh City

Construction demolition works have a large volume and increase gradually with socio-economic development. But they have not been given due attention. Because the effectiveness of management of construction demolished waste (CDW) has impacted the environment, we should pay attention to it in general or in part. The way should be in a harmonious balance with other activities. This study analyzed the causes affecting the classification recycling of CDW. Next, the paper introduced economic problems related to recycled sand from waste concrete. The last result proposed solutions for classification recycling for Ho Chi Minh City. The data was collected through a survey from organizations related to the existence and transformation of CDW with different positions and working periods. The results indicated eight factors: (1) Infrastructure systems and technology, (2) Recycled sand consumption barriers, (3) On-site classification recycling, (4) Demolition regulations strengthening, (5) Quality and safety improvement, (6) Classification recycling process optimization, (7) Recycled sand consumption ability and (8) Awareness. The paper also proposes various solutions for CDW classification and recycling in Ho Chi Minh City.
