Disaster Management and Policy
摘要
Disasters cause enormous negative impacts on human lives and livelihood. It is increasingly observed that vulnerability to disasters is generally higher among certain types of individuals, such as women, children, older people, and disabled persons, specifically in developing countries with low per capita income. Hence, disasters affect individuals differently, and some face a disproportionate burden of the disaster's impact. Disasters can also intensify some existing tensions, resulting in a large rise in conflicts and violence.
