摘要

This chapter discusses the theoretical models for studying the impact of natural disasters and role of disaster relief measures. It includes papers on both game theory and computable general equilibrium approaches to analyse the impact of natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, volcanoes, etc. on human fatalities and economic losses The studies have focused both on disaster related risk assessments and disaster management. Game theory models involve interaction among various players, generally individuals in an evacuation scenario, and government agencies/ private company’s response to the disaster relief.  Computable general equilibrium models are used to discuss the economic impact assessment due to disasters.
