The visual culture examined forms a Lakota archive that challenges the available settler colonial record and enlarges our understanding of Indigenous transnational artists and their graphic production by offering an alternate way of imaging Indigeneity in the Eternal City. The discussion aims to unsettle ideas about Indigenous people as stuck in the past by providing evidence of the mobility of Indigenous performers abroad in FranceFrance and Italy.
