Diabetes and Cultural Consensus
摘要
This chapter will show the results of the cultural consensus analysis and discuss the complete Arab American cultural beliefs model of diabetes. In addition, the chapter will discuss the variation in the model “beyond agreement,” based on sex, generation (first or second), education, age, country of origin, and the language of the survey. The results in this chapter show that Arab American Muslims in Dearborn, MI, share an overall cultural model of diabetes that does not contradict the medical knowledge.
