Numerical Simulation-Based Study on Water Exchange Capacity of Artificial Lake in Xiaoyao River Estuary

With the development and construction of coastal eco-civilized city, artificial lake landscape is planned to add leisure attractions for tourism. The flow velocity is small in artificial lake and the water quality of the lake is liable to deteriorate. It is necessary to exchange the lake water with the seawater regularly in order to prevent the water quality of artificial lake from deterioration. In this paper, focusing on artificial scenic water exchange capacity of Xiaoyao Lake in Binhai New City Zone of eastern Weihai City, the variation of pollutant concentration is calculated in lake area by numerical model of convection diffusion water exchange. The rate of water exchange and the semi-exchange time are analyzed. The result shows that the greater the water depth the weaker the water exchange capacity. The water exchange capacity can be improved by adjusting the water depth of the lake area. When Xiaoyao Lake releases fresh water, the water exchange capacity can be accelerated. The research results provide a scientific basis for planning and designing departments of Xiaoyao Lake.
