Seabed Liquefaction Around a Composite Breakwater with Dynamic Soil Resistance Under the Wave and Current Actions
摘要
The problem of wave–seabed interaction around a breakwater has attracted more and more attention of coastal researchers and engineers. This paper addresses the issue of the foundation related the performance of a composite breakwater constructed on a liquefiable seabed with the reduction in soil resistance taken into consideration. An integrated numerical framework is developed, in which the VARANS equations are applied to describe the fluid motion, whereas a modified poroelastoplastic modulus is proposed to examine features of the solid behavior under the wave–current loads. The results indicate that the pore pressure accumulation would be overestimated due to the negligence of the attenuation in soil resistance. The increment in the magnitude of the current velocity contributes to the enlarged equilibrium liquefied depth around the composite breakwater. The impacts of Cg parameter, wave height and wave period on residual pore pressure and soil liquefaction are analyzed and discussed.
