Analysis of the Effect of Porosity Under Wave Action on the Bait Box with Porosities in the Middle of the Cylinder Wall Surface
摘要
This paper theoretically investigates the effect of porosity under wave action on the bait box with porosities in the middle of the cylinder wall surface. The middle of the cylinder wall surface of the bait box is the perforated area, and the upper and lower ends of the cylinder wall surface of the bait box are non-perforated areas. Under the assumption of the linear theory of potential flow, the cylindrical with porosities in the middle of the cylinder wall surface is investigated by using the characteristic function expansion method, Bessel function addition theory and Darcy’s law, and the related analytical expressions of velocity potential and free surface elevation are derived. The results show that the force and the moment on the bait box decrease as the porosity increases; meanwhile, the smaller the porosity, the more pronounced the wave rise. The study results can help the designer/engineer to design the bait boxes with better structural performance and achieve more rational and better baiting.
