The Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for Shoreline Changes Monitoring During the Construction of Patimban Port Development Project
摘要
This paper reports on the findings from shoreline monitoring activities during the Construction of Patimban Port Development Phase 1–1. The shoreline monitoring plan was conducted using the cutting-edge technique in UAV (drone) mapping. The objective of these activities is to understand the impact of the new port construction on the shoreline changes by analyzing periodical drone surveys. In total, thirteen (13) surveys were conducted within a time interval of 3 months between April 2019 and April 2022. The survey confirms that the construction of the new port has minor impact on the changes of shorelines in the vicinity of port complex. Results from those monitoring activities suggest that UAV mapping can be an excellent and cost-effective alternative for shoreline change recognition in comparison with other methods.
