Chi-Square Test

Pearson’s χ2-test is one kind of hypothesis testing method for enumeration data using χ2 values as a test statistic based on a χ2 distribution. The χ2 value reflects the deviation between the actual frequency (A) and theoretical frequency (T). The main purpose is to determine whether there are differences between a sample rate or proportion and the population rate or proportion. A χ2-test can be conducted using SPSS software.
