Description of Categorical Variables

Relative measurement is often used to describe categorical variable. This chapter introduces three kinds of frequently used relative measurements including ratio, frequency, and intensity to explain why crude intensities cannot be directly compared with each other as well as to demonstrate how standardization approaches work.
