Descriptive Statistics of Continuous Variables

Two main components of classical statistical methods are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics describe the main features of a collection of data quantitatively. Their purpose is to describe a distribution of a property, the measure of central tendency, and the dispersion of a very large or infinite population. The normal distribution in particular is discussed in this chapter.
