Web-based Crop Recommendation System

Agriculture sector is one of the largest providers of livelihoods in rural India. The agriculture sector is also a crucial contributor factor to India’s gross domestic product (GDP). The overwhelming size of the agricultural sector is the blessing of the country. However, regrettable is the fact that yield per hectare of crops is still lacking when compared with international standards. Low yield is a cause of concern as it is one of the possible causes for a higher suicide rate and rural-to-urban migration among marginal farmers in India. The paper proposes a feasible and user-friendly crop recommendation system for the farmers. The proposed system provides connectivity to the farmers via a mobile application. The application is easy to use and provides output in a few clicks and entries. The user provides nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, moisture, temperature information as input. We use different machine learning algorithms that will recommend the most profitable crop.
