Fall, Bernard B. (1926–1967)

Bernard B. Fall was undeniably the foremost conscience of the Indochina War (1946–1954, 1955–1975). He wore many hats as scholar, author, and university professor, but a scholar and journalist in the field were his passion and forte. Trained as a political scientist and historian, Fall was perceptive, critical, and a beacon of reason though his outspoken criticisms, repeated warnings, proposals, and suggestions went unheeded within the circle of decision-makers in Washington, and the United States paid a heavy price in both blood and pride.
