Benedict Richard O’Gorman Anderson was an Irish political theorist and historian and a specialist of Southeast Asia, in particular Indonesia and Thailand. A polyglot, he has a particular interest in the relationship between power and language, and the genesis and development of nationalism, of empires and nation-states.
