WIDJOJO Nitisastro (1927–2012)

Widjojo Nitisastro was one of the foremost economists of Indonesia who had been the architect of the country’s economic policies for some three decades between the late 1960s and the mid-1990s. He was influential both as an economic policy-maker and economist in the Indonesian government and in academic circles, highly regarded from within and from without, and respected by international economic bodies including the World Bank, the Paris Club, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
