JOMO Kwame Sundaram

Jomo Kwame Sundaram is one of Malaysia’s eminent and renowned economists who excelled in his field of expertise both as an academic and practitioner in the international arena. After almost three decades as an academic in economics (1977–2005), Jomo (as he is widely recognized, namely, as Jomo K. S.) switched career to a practicing economist serving the United Nations (UN) for some 11 years (2005–2015). With such an illustrious career, his significance and contributions were immense, internationally and globally, both in the discipline of economics and in the field of economic development policies of the Third World and their implementation.
