Zeus A[tayza] Salazar is one of the most innovative contemporary historians of the Philippines who developed and promoted a new or emic perspective in Philippine history known as Pantayong Pananaw (lit. “for-us-from-us” perspective; often rendered as PP), a path-breaking idea and method in history and historiography that continued to be influential and practiced by historians since the late 1980s to the present. Besides excelling as a historian and philosopher of history, he is also an anthropologist.
