摘要

STEM education has emerged as an innovative strategy worldwide, playing an important role in fostering sustainable development and progress in every country. However, achieving gender equality in STEM fields is crucial to fully capitalize on the potential of young people in contributing to this mission. Women in STEM bring unique perspectives and approaches to research and development, yet their participation remains disproportionately low due to persistent gender gaps perpetuated by societal gender stereotypes. To address this issue, this study conducts a comprehensive point of view based on existing literature on STEM careers and employs a qualitative and quantitative analysis via a survey administered to students at Yachay Tech University in Ecuador. The Boolean method was used to find a congruent and reliable bibliography. The aim is to gain insights into students' perceptions of STEM careers and identify the factors that contribute to the gender gap remain.
