Creep and Super-Plastic Deformation in High Entropy Alloys

Creep, a time-dependent deformation phenomenon that occurs at high temperatures and constant stress, and superplastic deformation, which is characterized by exceptional plasticity at high temperatures and low strain rates, are important aspects of material behavior for applications ranging from aerospace to energy generation. Exploration of these properties in high-entropy alloys holds enormous promise, as their complex composition and resulting microstructures introduce the possibility of novel creep and superplastic responses that differ from those found in traditional alloys. This chapter takes the reader on a journey through the fascinating world of creep (long-term, nanoindentation, and elevated temperature) and superplastic deformation (ultrahigh strain rate and differential) properties in high-entropy alloys, providing a thorough examination of their behavior under extreme conditions.
