Fatigue/Fracture Properties of High Entropy Alloys

A major factor in the attraction of high-entropy alloys is the investigation of their fatigue and fracture properties, an area that holds the key to maximizing their potential in demanding applications. These properties of materials provide invaluable information about their durability and reliability under cyclic loading and extreme conditions. Owing to unique compositions and resulting microstructures, high entropy alloys challenge conventional understanding of fracture and fatigue studies. The intricate interplay between microstructure and mechanical response under cyclic stress is a focus of intense research, encouraging the pursuit of HEAs for structural applications in aerospace, energy, and beyond. This chapter aims to shed light on fatigue/fracture behavior by investigating the most recent advances in experimental techniques, computational modeling, and experimental frameworks.
