摘要

The development in nanoscale optics and plasmonics over the past decade has made it possible to achieve super-resolution and overcome the diffraction limited problem at sub-wavelength regime. The distinguished electrical and optical properties of carbon-based materials such as carbon nanotube, graphene, and single-crystal diamond have drawn considerable interest from optoelectronic and photonic community. These carbon materials provide common platform for integration of nanoscale electronics and optoelectronics devices on the same materials through plasmonic circuitry. The chapter emphasizes on carbon nanotube (1D), graphene (2D), and diamond (3D) materials as prototype examples in nanoscale optics and plasmonics.
