Design and Implementation of Microstrip Patch Antenna Using HFSS for Medical Applications
摘要
The main emphasis in wearable technology for medical purposes is on proper narrowband antenna design. This paper summarizes the most recent findings in the discipline of medical antennas. A microstrip patch antenna based on a defective ground design that can be used for narrowband applications. The suggested antenna operates properly on a single ISM band channel. The antenna's resonance frequency is 2.76 GHz, and its return loss is around − 31 dB. The antenna is 40 MHz (2.74–2.78 GHz) − 10 dB impedance bandwidth corresponds to channel 9 in ISM band frequency. By utilizing a defective ground design, the antenna was able to obtain a gain of almost 7 dB with an improvement in antenna efficiency of 20.43%. To verify the suggested antenna performances as an array, three linear vector arrays of arrangements 1 × 2, 1 × 4, and 1 × 8 have been developed. A return loss of less than − 10 dB should be better suitable for medical applications. Because of its great performance, low cost, ease of fabrication, and lightweight.
