A Voice-Assisted Walking Support for Visually Impaired People Utilizing an Wearable Sensor Network

A unique stick called a “blind stick” was created for persons who are blind to help them navigate more easily. Here, we suggest an improved blind stick that enables those with visual impairments to move with ease while utilising cutting-edge technology. The blind stick includes an ultrasonic sensor in addition to light and water sensors. The initial step of our plan is to use ultrasonic sensors to look for impending obstructions. The sensor sends data to the Arduino UNO when it detects impediments. The Arduino UNO then analyses this information and determines whether the impediment is close enough. The circuit accomplishes nothing if the obstacle is not very close. The Arduino UNO sends a signal to a buzzer to ring if the obstruction is nearby. Moreover, it detects water and informs the blind by sounding a distinct buzzer. Another benefit is that it enables blind people to determine if a space is lit or dark. One more cutting-edge feature is built into the system to assist the blind in finding their stick. In the event of problems or being lost, the system allows the blind person to send an SMS message to their carer or family members with their GPS location. It also assists in finding a stick if they forget where they put it using SMS. This is an important feature of the system. Hence, this technology enables the detection of obstacles as well as Stick's recovery for visually impaired individuals.
