Detection and Monitoring of Hazards in Mining Using IoT Based Intelligent Helmet
摘要
Working conditions in mines are extremely dangerous to people's health and safety worldwide. Because they are unable to notify the appropriate authorities of the emergency situation inside the mine, many miners lose their lives. It is impossible to establish a direct contact line to check on the mines due to their deep location. In light of these factors, the current study aims to create a safety and monitoring system for mines that does not call for a human to continuously keep an eye on the circumstances of the mine. The protective gear highlighted in this article is the safety helmet mine miners wear. To continuously monitor the conditions in the mine, this helmet is furnished with a range of environmental sensors, including gas, smoke, temperature, humidity, force, and air quality sensors. The study al-so makes use of Zigbee technology for wireless data transmission from the user's helmet to the central hub. The monitoring system communicates gathered data to a web server using IoT (Internet of Things) technology, enabling global monitoring of mine conditions.
