Cultivating Green Human Resource Management and Employee Environmental Behaviour in Local Governments: Evidence from Malaysia

The current research investigates how green human resource managementGreen Human Resource Management affects employeeEmployee environmentalEnvironmental behaviour behaviourBehaviours and the potential mediationMediation mechanism of environmental passionEnvironmental passion. Our hypothesisHypothesis suggests that the adoption of successful green human resource managementGreen Human Resource Management would stimulate employeesEmployee to become more concerned about environmental issues by allowing them to demonstrate a positive emotionPositive emotions towards achieving an organisation’s environmental goals. By using hierarchical linear modellingHierarchical linear modelling, a multilevelMultilevel approach was used to obtain information from 300 civil servantsCivil servants from 34 Malaysian local governments. Our findings confirmed the effect between green human resource managementGreen Human Resource Management, environmental passionEnvironmental passion, and how employeeEmployee their behaviourBehaviours towards the environment.
