Photo-Voltaic Thermal Liquid Collector

摘要

This chapter deals with integration of opaque, semi-transparent photo-voltaic (PV) with conventional flat plate collector, Chap. 4 , which is referred as PVT collector. There are various expressions, namely the outlet fluid, solar cell and absorber plate temperatures, the rate of useful thermal energy, mass flow rate factor and instantaneous thermal efficiency for PVT liquid collector have been given. Further, an effect of thermoelectric cooler (TEC) on PVT collector has been also discussed. The exergy analysis of PVT-TEC liquid collector consists of rate of thermal, electrical power from PV and TEC has been briefly discussed. An expression for nth PVT and PVT-TEC collectors has also been discussed. Mass flow rate factor for nth PVT-TEC collector has been derived, and its results for special case have also been discussed. There are fifty examples based on both PVT and PVT-TEC collectors.
